The Tara river is a true tear of Europe which is also called because of its clear and crystal water. If you wish, you can drink its ice-clear water in any part of the river. Tara river canyon is deep 1300 meters, and is the deepest canyon in Europe that has been protected by UNESCO since 1977 and is one of the 25 most important natural sites in the world. The øora and fauna of this part of the Balkan is wild, rich and rare. A large part of theTara canyon is overgrown with conifers, among which the most important place is occupied by black pine, which in some places is 50 meters high and over 400 years old. - Day of the excursion: monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday.
- Departure from Tivat at 05 hours and 30 minutes. The journey continues through Kamenari and Lipci. A short photo break above Risan from where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Boka Bay and two little islands near Perast. Then we slowly cross the continental part of Montenegro through a magical mountain landscape. Photo break above Salt lake near Nikšić. Continuation of the journey, arrival to the ethno village Izlazak from which offers a fantastic view of the Piva lake.We stay there for about 15 minutes.
- After 3 hours and 30 minutes drive and more photo breaks on the most beautiful viewpoints that you can imagine,we arrive at camp at Šćepan Polje, about 9 hours and 30 minutes .
- Soon we arrive, we will be offered with a rich meal of national cuisine, after breakfast we enter in jeeps and continue our 12 km long drive to place where the boats are waiting for us, and from where begins the 18 km long rafting on the Tara river and you can enjoy the beautiful parts of the canyon. During the rafting you will have the opportunity to see the beautiful waterfall and the cave, and on the many small beaches there is a possibility for a swimming break. Exciting but harmless rafting cannot be described in words, but you must experience it.
- After the rafting, we will have lunch at the campsite.
- Return is planned with a visit to the Piva monastery, that is dating from the 16th century.
- Return to Tivat around 19:00 hours.
