In the grayness of the Montenegrin rocks, where thousands of years ago, during major geological disturbances,
the slopes of Durmitor and Vojnika clashed, cut through an angry rock lies the Nevidio canyon. Nevidio canyon is the last conquered canyon in Europe. Montenegrin mountaineers barely conquered the canyon in 1965.
The name of the Nevidio canyon (something like no god saw) is reminiscent of the mysterious inaccessibility of the
canyon, which has long been hidden from the human eye. About a hundred meters in front of the canyon entrance is a large waterfall Grabovina. Vertical rocks, waterfalls, straits, sparkling beeches, narrow canals and a real gallery of stone figures are the main actors in the story of Nevidio, even today, Nevidio has seen fewer people than Everest. It is a cascade of waterfalls and narrow passages between the stone walls of the canyon. It starts at about 60 meters deep, and eventually runs deeper than 350 meters. In some places it is only possible to pass it under, or even through the rocks. Although most published brochures state that the canyon is 3000 m long, the actual canyon length is 1700 m. Altitude difference is 125m (entrance 935 meters, exit 810 meters).
