A excursion to the southernmost fjord of Europe is an opportunity to see the unique natural beauty of this bay and get to know its history, culture and architecture…
Visit one of the 25 most beautiful bays in the world! Learn about the charm of the small coastal town Perast, a former
port of the great Venetian republic that, along with two islands (St. George island and Our Lady of the Rocks), resists the time and is the true pearl of the Boka bay. A visit to Kotor, a city listed on the world heritage list and which is under UNESCO protection, is inevitable. The city – one of the best preserved in the region, hidden behind city walls that are illuminated at night to outline the head of a lion, is a real treat for tourist curiosity.

  • Day of the excursion: monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday.
  • Departure from Tivat by appointment.
  • The journey continues through Kavač, Trojica, Mirac and Škaljari. At Mirac we will visit the fortress of Goražde, which is made of solid stone, with armored domes, symmetrical with two wings connected by a circular structure, this fortification building is admired for the expertise of its neimars and unique harmony with the natural environment. This fortress was , with several other fortifications, the main military base of Austro-Hungary in the southern Adriatic. By the view that is provided from it towards the panorama of Boka it is clear how strategic this fortification had been for its builders. In addition to the fortresses at Vrmac, Trojica and Grabovac, Goražde formed the backbone of the Lovćen defensive zone of the Austro-Hungarian empire. On the way to Kotor we will make some photo break.
  • After a photo break, we arrive at the old coastal town Kotor, which, like the bay, is listed on the world heritage list and is under UNESCO protection. The old town of Kotor is one of the best preserved in the region, hidden behind 4 km of city walls that are illuminated at night to outline the head of a lion. During the tour you will have the opportunity to see the small squeres, the cathedral, the maritime museum, as well as climb the walls of the city from where you get a fantastic view on the Boka bay. You will also have plenty of time to enjoy one of the many cafes in the city. The scheduled time to visit Kotor is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • After that, we will go to Perast, the former home port of the magnificent 100 ships of Venice fleet. Perast is
immaculately preserved and is the last place where the flag of the Venetian republic has flown. Today, Perast is the jewel of the Boka bay, but the visit is incomplete unless the island our Lady of the Rocks is visited. A small island with a beautiful church from the 17th century is located next to Perast, and the museum on the island has a collection of stone monuments, murals and relics. Planned time for a tour of the island our Lady of the Rocks and the city Perast, is
    1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • After Perast, the route takes us to Risan, which is the oldest city in the Boka bay. It dates back to the 3rd century B.C.. Risan was the capital of the Illyrian queen Teuta, the center of maritime affairs, crafts and commerce of the Illyrian state. During the tour you will have the opportunity to see the Roman mosaics from the 3rd centry B.C., Sopot waterfall, rock in Lipci. Prehistoric rock drawings are the second oldest on the Adriatic coast and testify that Boka bay was inhabited in the late stone and early bronze age, 3000 years B.C. (before the appearance of the Indo-European Illyrians). The planned tour time is about 1 hour.
  • We continue our journey towards the town Morinj, where we will visit the famous tavern called Ćatovića Mlini.
30 minutes break for sightseeing, drinks or lunch at the restaurant.
  • Return to Tivat via Kamenari – Lepetani ferry.
